- What apprehensions do you have about games in your classroom?
I'm not sure there is anything that I will be apprehensive about. I feel that this
may be a great way to convey information to students.
- What are a couple topics students may choose that you already see as difficult topics to steer away from?
Since the topics will be STEM related with an emphasis on mathematics, it will be a
challenge to motivate students to pick topics that require a depth of understanding in math. I will try to dissuade students from looking at math topics in beginning
Math I or lower.
- What are a couple topics you could steer towards?
I will attempt to steer most of my students toward Math II or Math III topics such
as Geometry topics in Math II or factoring problems in Math III.
- What needs to be looked at when evaluating academic merit of a game?
Does the game address the desired objectives in a challenging yet attainable
manner?
- How do you see your class playing out during the school year, and which parts of the Globaloria experience do you see your students completing?
Since the class is totally dedicated to Globaloria, I expect the class to complete the
agenda as put forth by the company.
- Where do you see yourself needing extra assistance?
The first year that I teach the class, I will probably need to be reminded where I can
find certain things as I need them. After that, I hope to be more independent.
